Fortbildningskurser för konstnärer är oftast praktiskt inriktade på en specifik teknik. Dessutom är de dyra och/eller institutionsbundna. Vi tror att det finns ett behov av alternativ. Många konstnärer vill utveckla sin tematik och få ärliga åsikter och professionell kritik under sin arbetsprocess. Man kanske har arbetat med liknande frågeställningar under flera år och känner att man börjat fastna. Eller så vill man helt enkelt ha input på ett verk under arbete. Därför finns Klinik.
På Klinik möts konstnärer som vill utveckla sitt kreativa projekt i mindre grupper för att ge och få konstruktiv kritik. Tryggheten i Klinik består i att det inte närvarar någon utomstående betraktare, bara jämlika projektägare. Syftet är att förutsättningslöst och med så lite av hierarkisk prestige som möjligt utveckla och förstå varandras konstnärskap och process och sedan hjälpa varandra framåt. En viktig aspekt är att projektledarna (konstnärerna i Local A.) utsätts för och åtnjuter samma möjlighet till kritik som övriga. Local A. kommer att utveckla en matris för konstnärer som vill hålla Klinik utan projektledare.

Intermediate courses for artists are often focused on a specific practical technology. Moreover, they are expensive and/or institution-bound. We believe that there is a need for alternatives. Many artists have a particular need to develop their theme and to get an honest opinion and input during their work process. You might have worked on similar issues for years and feel that you are starting to get stuck. Or maybe you are on to something new, but don’t really afford the time and effort because you are afraid of losing what you have. This is why Klinik exists. At Klinik artists who want to develop their creative projects in small groups, meet to give and receive constructive criticism. The promise of Klinik is that no outside observer will watch, there will only be equal project owners. The aim is to develop an understanding of each other’s artistry and process, unconditionally and with as little of hierarchical prestige as possible, and then help each other forward. An important aspect is that the project managers (Local A.) are exposed to and enjoy the same opportunity to critique as the others. Local A. will develop a matrix for artists to perform Klinik without the need of project managers.
